Canadian company Dazmo Batteries introduced a new rechargeable battery pack using LiFePO4 lithium iron phosphate cells for video production rental houses and broadcasters. The Dazmo C-LiFePO4 boasts 45 minute recharge, integrated battery management, motion detection for power-saving, fuel gauge, and an industry-best 2 year warranty. Equipped with RFID transmitter technology, the batteries can wirelessly transfer information such as the number of cycles, serial numbers, and complete database. According to the press release, the packs have been in development for two years with “support from IREQ, Hydro-Québec, University of Texas and Université de Montréal who conducted extensive research and testing of the C-LifePO4 cell. Field application tests were made by Video MTL, one of Canada’s largest HD equipment providers to the cinematographic industry and Canada’s premier broadcaster supplier.”
