Oregon based Ryno Motors introduced a stylish one-wheeled electric cycle capable of up to 20 mph and 30 miles range using LiFePO4 batteries. The 36V 32Ah battery has a lock and carrying handle for removal from the cycle. The micro-cycle appears to use an active balancing method similar to a Segway although it has a twist throttle and brake. More videos and pictures on earthtechling.com and youtube.com. Estimated retail is $3500 – a very reasonable alternative for short urban commutes. The company is not in production yet, but is working with Washing State University-Vancouver on development and testing.
