Genovation Cars Inc, has agreed to a deal with Nevada-based K2 Energy Solutions, Inc to incorporate K2′s lithium iron phosphate batteries into their new G2 electric vehicle. Genovation recently completed the “development” phase of the G2 that incorporates “green” technologies and recycled materials and will begin developing a full-scale prototype of the G2. Maryland-based Genovation states that the development work, carried out with technology partner, Tata Technologies, was based on using the K2 packs from the outset. Andrew Saul, Genovation CEO states: “We did an extensive search and we came to the conclusion that K2′s green, energy-dense, and safe lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery packs are perfect for our needs.”
